Bristol Connections: Lisa Holodnak

Lisa approaches her transferee connections knowing that relocation is a very personal experience. The three focus areas in her communication are gaining trust, connection to the transferee and family members, and actively listening.

26 November 2019

Bristol would like to take this opportunity to recognize one of our highest-performing Mobility Advisors.  Lisa Holodnak joined Bristol in 2018 and has immediately distinguished herself in making a measurable, positive impact on the lives of transferees and delighting our clients!

Bristol’s quality assurance program utilizes a wide range of customized surveys to solicit our customers’ perceptions and feedback, including a satisfaction survey that rates transferee satisfaction on a 1 to 5 scale with 5 representing an extremely satisfied (or “delighted”) experience.  For the third quarter in 2019, Lisa received 70 completed surveys with a score of “5” for her personal performance, a nearly unprecedented number and percentage of her caseload.  Here are a few additional comments her transferees were inspired to write:

Lisa has been very prompt and helpful in all of her responses and made sure I had a hassle-free relocation!... Lisa is very helpful with proper follow-up and guidance...Lisa was a pleasure to work with and always made sure I was well taken care of…  her precise and prompt service made me feel secure and important!... She was very helpful in explaining to me everything I was not sure about…

How does she do it?

Lisa approaches her transferee connections knowing that relocation is a very personal experience. The three focus areas in her communication are gaining trust, connection to the transferee and family members, and actively listening. Transferees need be able to trust their Mobility Advisor. Setting the correct expectations and follow up is crucial to a successful relocation experience. Developing a genuine connection with the transferee is vital.  Lisa focuses on conversing with her transferees, not just taking notes and getting to the next benefit/task. She devotes time to identifying their concerns including what is most important to them and spending more time discussing these throughout their relocation to ensure their move is stress-free.  Lisa has been consistent in every communication she has with her transferees, going beyond their expectations... she loves what she does and her scores are the proof!

Let's get to know Lisa.....

Which historical figure would you like to meet and why?

Anne Frank. I would love to ask if she believes there was anything she could have done different to save herself and her family.  Her words resonate with me.  "I want to be useful or bring enjoyment to all people, even those I've never met".  As with Anne in her writing and how it makes her feel, I feel the same in helping people.  "I shake off all my cares.  My sorrow disappears, my spirits are revived!"

What do you like to do during your time away from Bristol?

I enjoy being goofy, making fun memories and recharging. Making my family and friends    smile, laugh and feel good because it does the same for me.  I enjoy taking the kids to the lake and bouncing them in the tube behind the boat to watch them laugh with excitement.  I also love riding horses and have been since I was 11 years old.

Which TV family is most like your own family?

Home Improvement. The Taylors with a bit of Brady Bunch mixed in. My significant other is into cars and power tools and is very witty and likes to joke around a lot.  We have a neighbor who is always popping over.  We currently have 3 boys we're raising in our house, 2 of which are always pestering each other.  We are a blended family of 5 children, 2 grandchildren and although 2 are now out on their own, it was an interesting dynamic when we all were under the same roof.  Also, I am not exempt from dumb moves myself.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

I am most proud of the person I am and having been able to overcome the obstacles I have faced in life away from the family and friends I grew up with. I continue to work hard for what I want in life for myself and my family.

If they made a movie about your life, what celebrity would you want to play you in it?

Jennifer Aniston for sure. She can definitely be who she needs to be under many different circumstances and she does it with spunk. Can't help but love her character and ability to be a chameleon.

Food you could eat and never tire of?

Pizza, definitely....New York style dripping with grease.

What do you like best about working at Bristol?

There are many things I like about working at Bristol.  Bristol encompasses many of the qualities I strive for in my personal life, allowing me to feel good about what I’m doing for work.  I love the people I work with, the atmosphere, and the way Bristol empowers employees to think and act outside of the box.

What would be the theme song for your life?

The Gambler by Kenny Rogers.  Through my own life experiences and different people I have met, I have learned how to read people and how to react in many situations.

How do you Connect versus Control, outside of Bristol?

I used to be a control freak but as time has passed, I have learned that you can only control how you react, and the best way to obtain a positive result is to connect and be the person to them that you want them to be in return.  I allow people to be who they are and I'm going to treat everyone with the same respect I would like to have.  I listen with the intent to understand, not to respond verbally but to take away what action is needed.  I allow my children, family and friends to be who they are.  They all know they don't have to pretend with me and it in turn we have built trust in each other.

If you could be a super hero or cartoon character for a day, who would you be and why?

The Bionic Woman.  She can hear things from afar.  Although I may not always like what I would hear, it would give me the opportunity to selectively listen to what other people are saying.  I am always curious what other people have to say behind closed doors.....for learning purposes of course.
