With each move Bristol manages, our mission remains the same: to bring people together for better, realizing our vision of a more connected world. To achieve this mission, we’ve focused on adopting generative artificial intelligence (AI) into our BristolElite global relocation management platform. This led to collaboration with IBM to use AI to bring more connective capabilities for relocating employees, which helped us deliver on our core commitments of being both connective and human.

We pride ourselves on providing relocating employees with relocation support from Bristol on demand through phone calls, texts, social media messaging, email, the BristolElite mobile app, and video chat/conferencing. The launch of Penelope, a virtual assistant, enhances our omnichannel capabilities.

Penelope, built with IBM’s AI assistant technology, provides relocating employees with instant answers to pressing questions about their moves using AI and natural language processing. Penelope is available 24/7/365 to answer questions pertaining to starting a move, expenses, and other relocation-related matters (as she indicates upon initial interaction).

By handling routine questions that would otherwise require our Service Delivery team's involvement, the team is freed to strategically counsel and support relocating employees — the work they’re best suited to do!

Penelope’s success is a product of our innovation and powerful partnership with IBM. Dennis Decot, Bristol’s Vice President of Business Process and Systems, shares, “In working with IBM to roll out Penelope, Bristol's technology team acquired the skills to work most effectively with AI, and chatbots specifically. As we look to the future, we are excited to leverage our expertise to expand Penelope’s capabilities and open other AI avenues that can be deployed to streamline processes for all stakeholders in the mobility ecosystem, from relocating employees and mobility practitioners to Bristol's suppliers and our own associates.”

Bristol’s President, Joe Cardini, states, “AI right now is all the rage, and with it comes much speculation about what it can and can’t do within the employee mobility space. I am very proud to say that Bristol will always be at the forefront of technology, and we are pleased to embed AI directly within the customer experience journey of relocating employees.”

Bristol is excited to continue innovating with AI to bring our clients a global relocation mobility solution that remains both connective and human.
