In recognition of Earth Day, Bristol is proud to highlight associate Tracy O’Connor and the many ways she and her family are committed to sustainability and caring for the planet.
As a family, they focus on making choices that reduce waste and create a positive impact on their lives, their local community, and the environment. At their homestead, O’Connor Family Acres, sustainability is part of everyday life.
The family looks for opportunities to reuse items and reduce waste whenever possible. One example is how they handle their Christmas tree each year. The tree is purchased from a local farm where trees are grown without chemical sprays. After the holiday season, the tree becomes food for their goats, turning something the family enjoyed into natural energy instead of waste.
Tracy’s commitment to sustainability also extends beyond her home through a small side business she runs, producing handcrafted bar soap under the name The Soap BeeZZ. Her bar soap uses recycled paper wraps instead of plastic packaging and requires significantly less water to produce than liquid soap. The bars last longer, which reduces overall consumption, and are made with simple, natural ingredients that break down more easily and are gentler on waterways. Producing soap in small batches also reduces industrial waste while supporting a local maker rather than large-scale factories.
Tracy believes each bar of soap she sells has a positive impact on her customers and the planet, and that sense of purpose is what makes the work meaningful for her. Through thoughtful daily choices at home and through her small business, Tracy shows how individual actions can make a difference.
We are grateful for the care and commitment Tracy brings to protecting our environment. Her efforts reflect Bristol’s mission to bring people together to better families, businesses, communities, and our planet. We are proud to recognize her impact.
Happy Earth Day from all of us at Bristol. 🌍💚
